Not Just Paper Beads

Inspiration continues to hit!

In my daughters button stash she had these beautiful buttons which I couldn't resist turning into earrings and a ring.

I also have another three of these buttons so I think they may well end up as part of another creation, a necklace perhaps?

Beads Glorious Beads

About four weeks ago I stumbled upong paper beads (yet again on Pinterest). I stared intently at the photos, visited the websites, watched youtube clips, rolled up my sleeves, fished out my paper supplies, located a skewer and glue and then set forth to create my first paper bead.

Now I have a large jar full of misfits (for want of a better word) and a full on addiction to creating jewelery from paper beads as the photos below will attest...

The misfit jar (all beads that haven't been used for 'something' end up displayed here - you never know when they might come in handy for a new design

The first piece of recycled jewelery created with pages from an atlas

My paper stash has grown dramatically as has my toothpick and skewer horde, the kitchen table is overrun with paints, jewelery findings, jars, buttons, glues, beads, paper beads,... I'm sure you get the picture! I couldn't be happier!

As promised

Project Life pockets filled with scrapbooking papers and other items I've been collecting, alas no photos yet but never fear they will be added through the reminder of the month!

Note quite as colourful as the first but this page is probably more complete
(but by no means finished yet as I want to add some journaling to it)

And finally some backgrounds I've cut out from an educational prospectus which I intend to scatter into other layouts as time goes by.

I haven't used any of Becky Higgins cards as I've not yet found the funds to purchase a kit (and they're not yet on sale here in NZ) but the minute I do I'll post pictures of them!

Moving & all things fun

Next month we on the move again. As our current home isn't particularly well suited for our family (very cold & noisy) we have decided not to renew our fixed term tenancy and are actually heading back to where we were living a year ago. So it's boxes, packing tape, newspaper & bubble wrap everywhere while we sort, pack, de-clutter and move everything that isn't heavy furniture into storage for a few months.

I'm in the process of tidying my art & craft gear, not an easy task because every time I sit down to tidy I end up creating new things and also more 'mess' lol.  I am hoping to get a dedicated area set up in our new (old) home complete with work area and appropriate storage, it won't be a huge area but I'm thinking that with the right storage solutions I should be able to continue my art, photography & crafts.

Photo on the right has some ideas which I think could be useful.  What does your craft/art area look like?

Youngest Daughters Creations

My youngest daughter Z is incredibly talented when it comes to arts & crafts and she's been busy over the holidays putting together a jewellery holder (above) and rag rug (below).

Crystals & Dragon Tears

Re-purposing two metal mobiles by hanging dragons tears and crystals from them with tiger wire provided a few hours of entertainment.
